I WISH I DRANK MORE COFFEE


Ikawa Coffee Company Booth, Kingfield Farmer's Market -
Minneapolis, MN

They were selling iced coffee at this little booth at the Kingfield
Farmer's Market. The stuff was magical. Some kind of soy milk, maple,
coffee mixture poured over ice. Damn. Plus, turns out this place has a
real mission. They get their coffee through some kind of special
project in Rwanda that gives local farmers bicycles to harvest and
deliver the coffee berries, so they can make a better living for their
family. Then over here in Minneapolis, Ikawa Coffee delivers their
beans by bike to companies and individuals who buy them. So cool. I
love companies with soul. Are you listening Corporate America?

A far cry from the down and dirty pho places around town. And I do mean dirty. Although, I think those places have better pho. So I'll still go to those places. Not tossing out my Wet Wipes just yet.

HOSPITAL-ITY

Children's Hospital - Minneapolis, MN My son had his tonsils and adenoids removed today. It was strange watching him go under. Hard not to tear up a little. He was so trusting. So brave. I fear now he'll never want to go to the doctor again. Can't blame him. If I went to sleep and woke up with tubes coming out of me and my throat felt like it was just buffed with sandpaper, I'd be cautious, too.
