A CALZONE BOMB & A LIMINCELLO COCKTAIL.


La Pizza Mia - Largo, FL

Went down to Florida for work last week. We happened to find this
place right next to the hotel. That calzone is bigger than it looks in
the picture. I've seen cats smaller than this calzone. Fresh ricotta
and mozzerella poured out like white lava when I cut into it. The
homemade pasta dishes kick ass too. The owner lady talked to us cause
the place was sadly empty. Turns out they'd only been open about six
months. Shit. I hope they make it. They deserve to make it. She poured
us homemade limoncella on the house in chilled glasses. Awesome. They
just need to turn off the flourecent overhead lights and they'll have
it.

Ngon Vietnamese Bistro - St. Paul, MN Went here a couple months ago. Nice casual place for a simple Asian meal. Good beer. Artwork on the wall. What else could you need? A far cry from the down and dirty pho places around town. And I do mean dirty. Although, I think those places have better pho. So I'll still go to those places. Not tossing out my Wet Wipes just yet.

HOSPITAL-ITY

Children's Hospital - Minneapolis, MN My son had his tonsils and adenoids removed today. It was strange watching him go under. Hard not to tear up a little. He was so trusting. So brave. I fear now he'll never want to go to the doctor again. Can't blame him. If I went to sleep and woke up with tubes coming out of me and my throat felt like it was just buffed with sandpaper, I'd be cautious, too.
