LET'S SAY GOODBYE TO CYNICISM


Matchbox Coffee Shop - Minneapolis, MN

After watching Obama's Inauguration, we headed over to this sweet
little coffee shop in Northeast. As the name suggests, it's tiny as
Hell and super-sized cool. We said something to the barista about how
cool it was to see history in the making. She says, "Yeah, now he
better not have been full of BS." Funny. Just goes to show you how
cynical the last eight years of politics has made us.

A far cry from the down and dirty pho places around town. And I do mean dirty. Although, I think those places have better pho. So I'll still go to those places. Not tossing out my Wet Wipes just yet.

HOSPITAL-ITY

Children's Hospital - Minneapolis, MN My son had his tonsils and adenoids removed today. It was strange watching him go under. Hard not to tear up a little. He was so trusting. So brave. I fear now he'll never want to go to the doctor again. Can't blame him. If I went to sleep and woke up with tubes coming out of me and my throat felt like it was just buffed with sandpaper, I'd be cautious, too.
