PIKE'S LOW POINT. ELEVATION 14,115.


Pike's Peak National Park - El Paso County, CO

Visited Pike's Peak today. The road is 19 miles to the top, but we
were only able to go up 13 miles to about 11,450 feet where there is a
gift shop and cafe. Unfortunately the guy running the gift shop had
conservative talk radio blasting and was too busy play cool mountain
man for a group of guys in baseball caps to take my money for the
chips I wanted to buy. Kind of a low point. But looking on the
positive side it was pretty amazing views of the peak.

HOSPITAL-ITY

Children's Hospital - Minneapolis, MN My son had his tonsils and adenoids removed today. It was strange watching him go under. Hard not to tear up a little. He was so trusting. So brave. I fear now he'll never want to go to the doctor again. Can't blame him. If I went to sleep and woke up with tubes coming out of me and my throat felt like it was just buffed with sandpaper, I'd be cautious, too.
